When is a roof inspection worth getting?
An inspection helps whenever a roof decision is coming up and you want facts before spending money.
- Buying a home. A roof is one of the most expensive parts of a house, and a general home inspection may only look at it briefly.
- Selling a home. A written report can answer buyer questions early.
- After a storm. A report supports an insurance claim and shows hidden hail bruising.
- Before winter. Catching loose flashing or lifted shingles is easier than fixing ice damage later.
- Aging roof. You can plan and budget for a replacement instead of reacting to leaks.
If you already see a leak, go straight to roof repair. If the inspection finds a worn-out roof, roof replacement is the next page to read.
